About Us

What is a toy library? (Joujouthèque)
A toy library is...a library of toys! It welcomes children and their families to come, browse and borrow toys and games in exchange of a small membership fee.

Our mission
The goal of the Sainte-Foy “Joujouthèque” is to offer its members the opportunity to have access to a large collection of toys year round at minimal cost. It is a non-lucrative organization subsidized by the borough of Sainte-Foy-Sillery-Cap-Rouge.

Our target clientele
The toy library welcomes parents who wish to offer their child or children a variety of toys and games without having to purchase them. Many good reasons justify a membership at the “Joujouthèque”: reducing mass consumption in general, avoiding clutter in the household with toys that children eventually outgrow, educating children on becoming well informed consumers by testing toys before buying them, and many more. Our collection of games and toys is suitable for toddlers to teens, so everyone will find something satisfying. Even parents will find board games to their liking.

Every year, the toy library buys $3,000 worth of toys from well-known toy manufacturers such as:
